The ladies of Thrapston drop everything to support the hospice

A GROUP of ‘cheeky’ friends from the Thrapston area have revealed al-most all for a charity in a bid to re-coup stolen funds raised in memoryof a lost loved one.A calendar featuring scantily-clad pic-tures of the girls has just been releasedwith all of the proceeds going to Ketter-ing-based Cransley Hospice – replacingcash which was taken following afundraiser.The tantalising images of the 14 lovelyladies are themed throughout the year,with hearts for February, Ascot-inspiredhats for June and poppies for November.The calendar, which is called ‘Calen-dar Girls of Thrapston SupportingCransley Hospice’ and costs £10, hasbeen produced with remarkable speed.The idea was conceived in early No-vember, the photos were taken a weeklater and, hot off the printing press,copies are on sale now.Wendy Brown, who has been organis-ing the project, said: “It was very sadwhat happened to our friends. Canceraffects us all. I just thought of an ideaone morning for the calendar as a wayto help them.”The 36-year-old, of Slipton, added:“The photoshoot was fantastic, althoughwe were all very nervous. Everyone hadso much fun, no matter how scared wewere. We just had it in our heads that wewere doing it for our friends.”The venture has been backed by 21companies from in and around Thrap-ston, including Protest Electrical Safety,Scotts of Thrapston, Hallmark Logisticsand MB Plasterers.
