It’s fit for a queen in Raunds!
COMMUNITY-spirited and tidy-minded Raunds residents joined the mayor in a spot of spring cleaning earlier this month – and their efforts made a right royal difference!
This year’s spring clean in the area was part of the nationwide campaign, titled Clean for The Queen, which aims to tidy our communities prior to the Queen’s 90th birthday.
A spokesman for the clean-up team said: “We had a great turnout and the weather was kind to us. Fifteen bags of rubbish were collected from Bassfords Recreation, Amos Lawrence playing field, The Square and Marshalls Road, Saxon Hall, Saddlers play area and Brooks Street – as well as a fridge, panes of glass and a paddling pool!
“We would like to thank all the volunteers who joined us for the morning and I think we really have made a difference to Raunds.
“Keep up the good work!
