Grab a grant! Popular fair returns to offer funding help
ANOTHER hugely popular Community Funding Day is being held next month by East Northamptonshire Council, aiming to help groups to find out what funds are available.
The event, on Friday March 18 at the council’s Thrapston offices, is open to all, and gives community groups the chance to speak directly to funders and find out what money is on offer to help with projects.
Visitors have been impressed with the last eight Community Funding Days, passing on comments such as, “fantastic event which aids local communities” and “very valuable – can’t emphasise this enough”.
This year’s Funding Day – a free to attend event – aims to be bigger and better than before, with a record number of funders on hand to talk people through funding opportunities in East Northamptonshire, including representatives from the Heritage Lottery (The National Lottery), BBC Children in Need and the Lloyds Bank Foundation.
Other funders attending include: Charity Bank, Diocese of Peterborough, East Northamptonshire Council, Grantscape (Mick George and Augean), The Key Fund, LEADER Programme, Nene Valley Community Action, Northamptonshire ACRE, Northamptonshire Community Foundation, Northamptonshire Sport, ProHelp (Business in the Community), Rushden Town Council, Spire Homes, Impact Northampton and Waitrose.
Su Davies, external funding manager at East Northamptonshire Council, said: “The fair provides an excellent opportunity for groups to meet funders face-to-face and get a straightforward answer to their funding questions. Two hours at the fair can save so much time, which would otherwise be spent searching through websites or trying to get funders on the phone. I look forward to seeing you there.”
The Funding Day will take place in the Council Chamber on Cedar Drive (NN14 4LZ) in two sessions: 10.30am-12.30pm and 1-3pm. Book a space by visiting: east-northamptonshire.gov.uk/booking
